Oprah Winfrey: Mid-Range Mesomorphic Endomorph


Oprah Winfrey is a mid-range endomorph.  This means that she is primarily endomorphic but has a significant amount of mesomorphy.  With the addition of 3 ectomorphy she hovers moderately toward the middle of the somatotype triangle.

Additional Comments: You can’t talk about Oprah and all that she has accomplished without mentioning her weight.  Her weight never stood in the way of her success.  However, she has had difficulty accepting her body. The truth is in her somatotype.      The average woman is a 4 in endomorphy and oprah is a 6.0.  Endomorphy =Fat = Pounds.  This higher than average density is packed into 3.5 ectomorphy.  She’s just ectomorphic enough that if she starves herself she will appear thin.    Her ideal weight is around 170 pounds. She should be able to achieve that with a normal diet and a vigorous work-out routine.  Because she has enough muscle she can handle a vigorous work-out routine which along with a normal diet will keep her weight in the ideal range.
